Site Information: Starr Hill
Rome Air Development Center first leased the Starr Hill Annex from New York state in 1954. Starr Hill was originally used as a geodetic dome survey site, and later functioned in the testing of electronic countermeasures and in the testing of the guidance and control systems for the Atlas missile. RADC vacated the site in February of 1975. Subsequently, the FAA became the main user of the site.
